NICC is een non-profit initiatief dat wordt beheerd door en voor kunstenaars. Het is opgericht door professionele beeldende kunstenaars om hun belangen te behartigen. Ons doel is om een kwalitatief sociaal kader op te zetten waarbinnen de autonome artistieke praktijk zich professioneel kan ontwikkelen.

NICC fungeert als bemiddelaar tussen beeldende kunstenaars en de overheid, kunstorganisaties en andere actoren in het culturele veld. Naast een programma van sociale acties, reflectie en onderzoek presenteert NICC een artistiek programma van lezingen, tentoonstellingen, symposia en presentaties over hedendaagse professionele kunstpraktijken.

Onze activiteiten worden gefinancierd door de Vlaamse overheid. De voorwaarde voor het ontvangen van deze financiering is echter dat NICC instaat voor 7,5% van de totale kosten. Door lid te worden, help je kunstenaars een stem te geven.

NICC membership

NICC is a non-profit artists initiative run by and for artists, it is founded by professional visual artists in order to advocate their rights. Our aim is to set up a qualitative social framework within which the autonomous artistic practice can develop professionally.

NICC functions as a mediator between visual artists and the government, art organisations, and other actors in the cultural field. In addition to a program of social actions, reflection, and research, NICC presents an artistic program of lectures, exhibitions, symposia, and presentations on contemporary professional art practices.

The Flemish Government funds our activities. The prerequisite for receiving this funding, however, is that NICC stands in for 7,5% of the total costs. By becoming a member you help give a voice to artists.
