Nicc is happy to announce ‘HOTSPOT” the first solo show of Stéphane Barbier Bouvet in Belgium.

Through a diversity of projects as its studio atelierbbb, the construction program for the cultural field called Kaiser Kraft or the exhibition space 1m3 Stephane Barbier-Bouvet conceives his practice and productions, not as an autonomous proposal but as a response made in relation to a situation, which may emerge spontaniously from an ideal combination of their functions, materials, technics, costs and meanings. His approach is an open plan system applying a design methodology to the various fields of culture.

He developped since 2006 a wide range of solo and collaborative projects such as lighting Hotel Abisso at Centre d’art Contemporain in Geneve (2013), curating at 1m3, displaying Fun Palace at Centre Pompidou (2011) or the Swiss Design Awards at Mudac (2011), furnishing the streets of Hyeres (2011), Une Préface at Frac Ile deFrance (2013) or the Casa Tabarelli by Carlo Scarpa (2013), constructing the CCLA, Centre Culturel les Arques (2012), a pier on the Dordogne River (2013) and sometimes exhibiting at GraffMourgue d’Algue gallery (2012), during La Vie Matérielle at Fondation Ricard (2013), the Swiss Art Awards in Basel (2014) or at galerie Truth and Consequences (2014)

Stephane Barbier Bouvet is represented by gallery Truth and Consequences in Geneva and the just launched Salle Principale in Paris.
