NL Curator Koi Persyn van Komplot gaat in gesprek met Lore Smolders over haar boek en boekpresentatie “Touch Response”. Deze NICC Talk neemt plaats in de scenografie die Lore Smolders ter gelegenheid van haar booklaunch in de NICC Vitrine heeft opgebouwd.

 

Deze kunstenaarspublicatie omvat een reeks fragiele potloodtekeningen die ze maakte tijdens een periode waarin vermoeidheid, pijn en andere ellende de bovenhand namen. In een bijgevoegd interview met healer Birds WG gaat ze in gesprek over kwetsbaarheid, het gebrek aan taal, hoe beelden (niet) te interpreteren en hoe beelden herstellend kunnen werken. Het boek wordt gepresenteerd in een scenografie, een ruimte die transformeert tot een repair kit met objecten, dragers, displays en neveneffecten. Als bezoeker word je uitgenodigd toeschouwer te worden van een therapeutische opstelling.

 

De presentatie in de vitrine is permanent zichtbaar tijdens de duur van de tentoonstelling. Tijdens het laatste weekend (21 – 23.04.2023) van de presentatie is ook de binnenruimte van de NICC Vitrine open voor bezoekers (14:00-18:00h)

 

EN Curator Koi Persyn of Komplot will talk with Lore Smolders about her book and book launch “Touch Response.” This NICC Talk takes place in the scenography that Lore Smolders has constructed in the NICC Vitrine for the occasion of her booklaunch.

 

This artist publication (published by Infinitif) contains a series of fragile pencil drawings she made during a period when fatigue, pain and other suffering took over. In an included interview with healer Birds WG, they discuss vulnerability, the lack of language, how to (not) interpret images and how images can be reparative. The book is  presented in a scenography, a space that transforms into a repair kit with objects, carriers, displays and side effects. As a visitor, you are invited to become a spectator of this therapeutic setup.

 

The presentation in the window display is permanently visible during the course of the exhibition. During the final weekend (21 – 23.04.2023) of the presentation, the inside space of the NICC Vitrine will also be open for visitors (14:00-18:00h).
