The Occupation of the ICC
01.02.1998 - 28.02.1989
, Cel Crabeels, Danny Devos, Giles Thomas, Christine Clinckx, Karen Celis, Jan Kempenaers
On the first of February 1998 Christine Clinckx, Patries Wichers, Cel Crabeels, Jan Kempenaers, Giles Thomas, Danny Devos, Karen Celis together with a dozen artists occupied the former Royal Palace on the Meir, Antwerp, where the International Cultural Centre (ICC) had been located since 1970. The occupation stemmed from a frustration concerning the closing off so many spaces for young artists, including the ICC. This occupation eventually led to the constitution of the New International Cultural Centre (NICC).
