The Heads shows two avatars* of the artists, albeit without eyes or mouths. Lacking mouths, they produce only an unintelligible groaning. Clearly the avatars allude to the vain and the elusive, however the glorious tradition of the artist portrait as introspection is farfetched.
The screens are mounted on colorful, bent, steel tubing commenting on the sculptures the artists produced for the public space of Cureghem, only a stone’s throw away from the gallery.
*Avatar = representation of a real person in a virtual space
