Geachte NICC,

In de publicatie Collectief voor sociologische kunst zoals deze in 1975 werd uitgegeven door jullie, toen nog onder de naam ICC, stelt H. Fischer voor om de konceptuele kunst achterwege te laten en een sociologische kunstvorm te introduceren. Achtenveertig jaar later stellen wij als Tijdelijk Informatie Centrum, afdeling WIP vast dat in het kader van bovengenoemde verschuiving de laatste jaren er in toenemende mate belang wordt gehecht aan het hoe en wat van ‘organisatie’ binnen de kunsten. We zouden kunnen stellen dat in dit opzicht Documenta 15 het institutionele kunstenfirmament een nieuw paradigma heeft voorgeschoteld.

Deze evoluties in overweging nemende wil het Tijdelijk Informatie Centrum, afdeling WIP graag een voorstel tot samenwerking voorleggen aan het NICC:

⇨ Het Tijdelijk Informatie Centrum (T.I.C.) is een open artistieke praktijk opgestart door Kasper Demeulemeesteren Jakob Van den Broucke in 2020. Terugkerende thema’s zijn lokale geschiedenis, complexiteit, protocollaire methodologie, organisatie, precariteit, recreatie, periferie, amateurisme, informatie, standaardisering en documentatie. T.I.C. ontwikkelt zich als een dynamische en synergetische denkruimte waarin samenwerking, accumulatie van kennis en esthetische productie kunnen samenvallen. De werkzaamheden worden georganiseerd in de vorm van afdelingen en ontsloten via mails, vergaderingen, acties, installaties en publicaties.

⇨⇨ Om de werkzaamheden van het T.I.C. op consequente wijze te ontsluiten zullen we in 2023 een nieuwe periodieke publicatie getiteld DISSEMINATIE in het leven roepen.

⇨⇨⇨ Het eerste nummer van DISSEMINATIE zal bestaan uit de hoofdingspapieren van de 15 reeds actieve afdelingen van het Tijdelijk Informatie Centrum en een uitgebreid interview waarin de praktijk van het T.I.C. toegelicht wordt.

⇨⇨⇨⇨ Ter aankondiging van deze eerste publicatie zouden we graag een publieke manifestatie organiseren bestaande uit volgende onderdelen: a. het voorlezen van het document Tijdelijk Informatie Centrum_een poging tot manifest. Dit evoluerend document is een verzameling van concrete en idealistische uitgangspunten aangaande artistieke en sociale en organisatorische praktijken in het algemeen en in het bijzonder., b. het tonen van de verschillende hoofdingspapieren in koffie gedrenkt in kader, c. het etaleren en verkopen van de eerste editie van DISSEMINATIE.

⇨⇨⇨⇨⇨ Tijdens het lezen van de publicatie Collectief voor sociologische kunst dachten wij dat het NICC de geschikte partner zou zijn om deze droom samen met te realiseren. Tot op heden organiseerden wij nog geen evenement in Antwerpen stad en we zouden via jullie een nieuw publiek willen bereiken. Daar wij eind mei al een tweede uitgave plannen zouden we dit voorstel op korte termijn in de werkelijke wereld willen uitvoeren. Het zou gaan over een eendaags evenement.

Bedankt voor jullie weloverwogen voorstel tot samenwerking.

Vanuit NICC lijkt het ons zeker interessant om met jullie in zee te gaan en de lancering van de periodieke publicatie DISSEMINATIE door Tijdelijk Informatie Centrum (T.I.C.) te helpen faciliteren.

De actie ligt in één lijn met onze overtuiging als socio-economische belangenbehartiger van de beeldende kunstenaar. Vanuit dit opzicht zal ons publiek er ook baat bij hebben en zich hopelijk geprikkeld voelen om de lancering van DISSEMINATIE bij te wonen.

Bij deze worden jullie als afgevaardigden van de afdeling WIP uitgenodigd om jullie publieke manifestatie in ons NICC kantoor te realiseren. We kijken uit naar de onderlinge samenwerking en de lancering van deze eerste publicatie van de periodieke publicatie DISSEMINATIE.

 

(p.s. Bestaat er eigenlijk een betere datum dan de Dag van de Arbeid voor de lancering van een dergelijke periodical? Laten we de essentie van de dag voor sociale strijd proberen te belichamen.)

Launch of periodical publication “DISSEMINATIE” by Temporary Information Center (T.I.C.)

This NICC Talk will be hosted  by T.I.C., within the context of the collaboration, and for the sake of continuity of T.I.C.’s way of working, it was decided to use the essential mails between T.I.C. and NICC as the communication text.

Dear NICC,

In the publication Collectief voor sociologische kunst, published by you in 1975, then under the name ICC, H. Fischer proposes to abandon konceptual art and introduce a sociological art form. Forty-eight years later, we as Temporary Information Center, WIP Department note that in the context of the aforementioned shift in recent years, increasing importance has been attached to the how and what of “organization” within the arts. We could say that in this respect Documenta 15 has presented a new paradigm to the firmament of the institutional arts.

Considering these evolutions, the Temporary Information Center, WIP Department would like to submit a proposal for collaboration with NICC:

⇨ The Temporary Information Center (T.I.C.) is an open artistic practice founded by Kasper Demeulemeester and Jakob Van den Broucke in 2020. Recurring themes are local history, complexity, protocol methodology, organization, precarity, recreation, periphery, amateurism, information, standardization and documentation. T.I.C. is developing as a dynamic and synergistic thinking space where collaboration, accumulation of knowledge and aesthetic production can coincide. Work is organized in the form of departments and the practice exists out of mails, meetings, actions, installations and publications.

⇨⇨ To consistently disclose the work of the T.I.C., we will create a new periodic publication entitled DISSEMINATIE in 2023.

⇨⇨⇨ The first issue of DISSEMINATIE will consist of the headers of the 15 already active sections of the Temporary Information Center and an extensive interview explaining the practice of the T.I.C.

⇨⇨⇨⇨ To announce this first publication, we would like to organize a public event consisting of the following parts: a. the reading of the document Tijdelijk Informatie Centrum_een poging tot manifest. This evolving document is a collection of concrete and idealistic principles concerning artistic, social, and organizational practices in general and in particular., b. the display of the various headings papers soaked in coffee in frames, c. the display and sale of the first edition of DISSEMINATIE.

⇨⇨⇨⇨⇨ While reading the publication Collectief voor sociologische kunst, we thought that NICC would be the appropriate partner to realize this dream with. Until now we have not organized an event in Antwerp and we would like to reach a new audience through collaborating with you. Since we are already planning a second edition at the end of May, we would like to implement this proposal in the real world in the near future. It would be a one-day event.
