EN Collectif Faire-Part is an ensemble of Belgian & Congolese artists. They started out years ago aiming to tell new stories about Kinshasa, about Brussels, and the many complex relations in between. Lately, their work has been turning towards broader questions about power structures, collective resistance, and togetherness. Next to their shared practice, they try to support each other in their personal projects.
The group was founded by filmmakers Anne Reijniers, Paul Shemisi, Nizar Saleh and Rob Jacobs when they first started working together in 2016. Over recent years the collective of four has shape-shifted into a slightly larger group of regular collaborators, in which team composition changes with each project. Stephanie Collingwoode Williams and Amelia Malfait Lakhtara have been involved as co-curators and co-creators in various projects, steering the group into new directions. Next to filmmaking, the collective takes pictures, curates programs, gives workshops and hosts festivals.

FRONT ROW is a monthly series of artist’s talks jointly organised by M HKA and NICC. NL Collectif Faire-Part is een collectief van Belgische en Congolese kunstenaars. Ze zijn jaren geleden begonnen met als doel nieuwe verhalen te vertellen over Kinshasa, over Brussel en de vele complexe relaties daartussen. De laatste tijd richt hun werk zich op bredere vragen over machtsstructuren, collectief verzet en saamhorigheid. Naast hun gezamenlijke praktijk proberen ze elkaar te ondersteunen in hun persoonlijke projecten.
De groep werd opgericht door filmmakers Anne Reijniers, Paul Shemisi, Nizar Saleh en Rob Jacobs toen ze in 2016 voor het eerst samenwerkten. De afgelopen jaren is het collectief van vier uitgegroeid tot een iets grotere groep van vaste medewerkers, waarbij de samenstelling van het team per project verandert. Stephanie Collingwoode Williams en Amelia Malfait Lakhtara zijn als co-curatoren en co-creators bij verschillende projecten betrokken geweest en hebben de groep in nieuwe richtingen gestuurd. Naast het maken van films maakt het collectief foto’s, stelt het programma’s samen, geeft het workshops en organiseert het festivals.

FRONT ROW is een gratis reeks verrassende kunstenaarsgesprekken, georganiseerd door M HKA en NICC. In een open format – van lezingen tot performances en het delen van nieuwe ideeën – krijg je inzicht in hedendaagse artistieke praktijken en denkwerelden die reflecteren op kunst, cultuur en maatschappij.
