Algemene info over de werkgroep:

Maak jij deel uit van een artist-run initiatief? Kom mee luisteren of doe zelfs een duit in het zakje tijdens de eerstvolgende meeting van de NICC werkgroep “Artist-run”. Met de werkgroep “Artist-run” creëert NICC een uitwisselingsplatform waar artist-run initiatieven hun licht bij elkaar kunnen opsteken om zo hun positie te versterken. Zowel de gespreksonderwerpen als de vorm worden bepaald door de deelnemers van de werkgroep. Bij NICC vinden we het van cruciaal belang dat kunstenaars zelf het programma en de dialoog bepalen. Onderwerpen die al aan bod kwamen zijn uitwisselingen over good-practises of het ondersteunen van een uitwisselingsplatform voor jonge artist-run organisaties in Europa.

Acties die uit de werkgroep gevloeid (of aan het vloeien) zijn:

—- Voorstel uitschrijven om een Europees uitwisselingsproject (gesubsidieerd vanuit Erasmus+) op te zetten samen met artist-run platformen waar kunstenaars onder 30 actief zijn.

—- Samenwerking met GLEAN magazine: Artist-Running Estafette

—- Artist-run boekclub.

EN New action from the working group artist-run: the artist-run book club. Self-published art books, publications on self-organization; we read and discuss books together. The next meeting will take place on April 19th at 7 pm in Hasselt during The Shitty City festival, where we will discuss the new publication “Nomad City: A Research on Sustainable and Communal Living” by Milan Gillard, Mirte Meneve, and Stef Lemmens.

General info about the working group:

Are you part of an artist-run initiative? Come listen and have a listen or even contribute during the next meeting of the NICC “Artist-run” working group. With the working group “Artist-run”, NICC creates an exchange platform where artist-run initiatives can learn from each other in order to strengthen their position. Both the topics of discussion and the format are determined by the participants of the working group, at NICC we deem it essential that artists determine the content of the discussion and the program. Topics that have been discussed include creating a publication on good-practices and supporting an exchange platform for young European artist-run organizations.

Actions that sprung (or are growing)  from the working group:

—- Write a proposal to set up a European exchange project (subsidized by Erasmus+) together with artist-run platforms in which artists under 30 y/o are active.

—- Collaboration with GLEAN magazine: Artist-Running Estafette

—- Artist-run book club.
